A Day in Pictures - January 12th, 2007
On Friday, January 12th, 2007 I joined in the "A Day in Photos" project put together by my good friend Tim. For this project, we each took our camera in the morning and proceeded to just take pictures all day long, whatever that may entail. These are the photos that I garnered from the project. It was pretty fun, actually.
I wanted to start with the first thing I saw for the day, so that's usually my ceiling fan here. Kinda boring, really.
Then, out to the fine hallway of my lovely, lovely condo.
Then, peering out my back door to the bright and cheery morning. </sarcasm>
Time for a quick shower to start the day, I always like taking pictures of falling water and being able to pick out the individual droplets.
Why did I take a picture of myself brushing my teeth? Probably the same reason Tim did. :-D
Some power lines just outside my building... There's something about this particular picture that has me fascinated. I've got a window in my place that looks right at it, so my constant gazing out the window and seeing it might have something to do with it.
And now I'm off to hit the streets and head over to my buddy Paul's place for some lunch.
And the CTA was just in time!
Some random people on the train... It was pretty quiet, being the middle of the day and all. I love being on vacation.
A little bit of tunnel vision as I come up the escalator in the train station.
As I'm walking through downtown on my way over to Paul's, I passed the famous Chicago Union Station. It's really quite a massive building and impressive on the inside. The architecture is beautiful.
It was a rather foggy, wet day... drizzle everywhere. You couldn't even see the top of the Sears Tower.
This was Paul's last day in Chicago as he's moved off to Buffalo, NY now, so we went down into his storage room to dig out some stuff for his impending travel. Jack came by for some moral support as well.
Paul and his estute condo in the West Loop.
Jack hanging out in Paul's kitchen before we head out for lunch.
Ok, so it was more of brunch than lunch. Breakfast is tasty!
Lou Mitchell's is one of the finest places in the city to get coffee, they've won all sorts of awards n' stuff.
That was some good eatin'.
Some more scenery of Chicago, Old St. Patrick's Church on Des Plaines Ave.
By the evening, it had gotten even foggier and rainier. Bleh.
Just some city streets and cars whizzing by.
CTA is a little more crowded with everybody trying to get home.
The dark tunnel, waiting for the next train to come.
Definitely a bit more crowded with the evening rush.
I went over to Good Jer's place because we were going to dinner and play that evening, but of course, even he wasn't home by the time I got there.
Good Jer did eventually get there though.
We went to this vegatarian place called "Alice & friends" for dinner. "A very girly place" was a comment for the night.
Ah, engrish is alive and well in the states. Time to make that wish!
Good Jer, Jason, Jenny, and some other folks joined us for dinner.
JeanPaul was mildly aware of the "VERY SPICY!" subtitle on his food.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant though... but it was girly.
Us running through the rain to get to the Raven Theatre to see a showing of Mamet's American Buffalo.
The stage was pretty neat. The play itself was very good, great character studies.
Ah, and back to bed at the end of the evening. My full circle is complete.
